Benches and Picnic Shelters
June 23, 2022
Dear supporter of the trails,
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, once again, for your continued support of the trail. As you know, the maintenance of the Musquodoboit Rail Trail and its connected wilderness trails are managed entirely by volunteers.
There are always ongoing maintenance projects on the trails, including re-shingling the three picnic shelters along the rail trail (completed last month), maintenance & repairs to the toilets, culverts, signage, bridges, and benches. Many of these projects had to be suspended last year due to the impact of COVID-19.
Some repair and maintenance projects are funded by Halifax (HRM), the Trans Canada Trail (TCT), and the Province of NS. However, ongoing trail maintenance costs, such as gas for mowing, trimming or brush cutting, are not eligible for reimbursement.
This is where you come in. Day-to-day expenses are funded by memberships, donations and facility sponsors like you. Without this support there would be no trail.
Now that the challenges of COVID-19 have become less of an impact on our ability to do trail maintenance, we have resumed doing work that had to be paused during the pandemic.
With this in mind, please resume your support of the trails with your donation to:
