Benches and Picnic Shelters
Aug 26, 2023
Dear supporter of the trails,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, once again, for your continued support of the trail. As you know, the maintenance of the Musquodoboit Rail Trail and its connected wilderness trails are managed entirely by volunteers.
There are always ongoing maintenance projects on the trails, including repairs due to Hurricane Fiona (completed in May 2023), maintenance & repairs to the toilets, culverts, signage, bridges, and benches. Many of these projects had to be suspended last year due to the more urgent work needed to recover from Hurricane Fiona.
Some repair and maintenance projects are funded by Halifax (HRM), the Trans Canada Trail (TCT), and the Province of NS. However, ongoing trail maintenance costs, such for mowing, trimming, brush cutting, are not eligible for reimbursement.
This is where you come in. Day-to-day expenses are funded by memberships, donations and facility sponsors like you. Without this support there would be no trail.
Now that the challenges of Hurricane Fiona are no longer impacting our ability to do trail maintenance, we have resumed doing work that had to be paused.
With this in mind, please continue your support of the trails with your donation:
_____ @ $ 50.00 per bench
_____ @ $200.00 per picnic shelter
_____ @ Additional donation
Total $ ___________

With thanks:
Nick Boldt,
Treasurer/Secretary,
